I have been avoiding Webcors due to potential
record changer wonkiness, that I was not sure
I wanted to tackle.
Well, somehow this really nice Webcor EP-1762-2
was delivered to my porch a few days ago.
(How did that happen ? ) [ : )
No one was bidding on it, and the
amp should be a mono 6V6 PP with nice
big transformers. Three way speaker system.
So, I was the only bidder, and the price
total was $40 including shipping all the
way from California. Boy, is it heavy.
Something cool is the record changer
base is chrome finished.
It's a "magic mind" changer, and I hope it won't
take me down a rabbit hole when I start to
work on it.
Anyway, I have the Motorola to re-cap first.

I like it! I bet it will sound good once rebuilt. I have two Webcor's. A early 50's probable, and a late 50's early 60's small console. Both are waiting restoration.
I'm looking forward to your restoration once you get too it. Maybe I can start mine at the same time and we can compare notes.

You sure find all the good stuff. I like the chrome motor board. I look forward to following the restoration.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

Nice flashy record player... $40?!! I'd think shipping alone would be more than that these days! Good find!

Re: Webcor EP-1762-1 Never say Never
I have not worked on one but I think its no big deal, like going from V-M to RCA Victor. I have a Silvertone with one of those changers and a spare Webcor as well.
Changers are a PITA in many ways, especially if you need parts that V-M does not have.

Every time I scroll past the photo with the bubble wrap stuffed around the changer I think it's ice. I kinda looks like ice.
