"I'm gonna kill that silly cat....."

Mittens, our Ford Wildcat, is now four years old. Typical of a four year old female cat, she is muscular and articulate. She has developed a habit that I find cute, but my wife is not so enamored.

Here awhile back, a friend of the wife's gave her a big sack of Splenda packets, maybe 10,000 of them. I use Splenda in my coffee. I rip the top off the little bag so I can use the product. I stack these up in a pile until I'm done with my coffee. Mittens has found that she can jump up on the table then sit there and purr and act all cute and lovable. Then she'll very discreetly start knocking the Splenda packet parts off the table onto the floor. When she has then all on the floor, she'll jump down and start piling them all up again. When she has all the parts rounded up in a pile, she'll take her right foot and start shoving the pile towards her water bowl. She will sit and play with an ice cube in her water bowl until it melts. She takes the Splenda pack parts, licks her right front paw so the paper will stick, then deposits the paper into her water bowl. She bats them around until they soak up water and sink. I think this is really cute, how this allegedly dumb animal has figured this all out. The wife is not so thrilled, as she thinks it makes a big mess. Mittens is skating on this ice with the wife over this one.
