It's a handsome thing, but if the guy is asking $10K you'd think that he'd spend a few moments to wipe down the aluminum faceplate and take some stain to the bare-wood edges that have bee dinged. C'mon, at least make it LOOK cared-for. And maybe tell us who serviced it. "Professionally serviced" could mean somebody put a filter cap or an output transistor in it.
If you bought this thing, where are you gonna get speakers that will handle all that power? You'd end up with Peavey professional speakers, probably, and those aren't cheap, even used they are the big money.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison
In a word NO. I've seen them often in the 900-1200 range.
As to speakers, electrostatic and planar speakers like a lot of power. I've always jonesed for a pair of the bigger Magnepans or
Martin Logans but the wife would NOT approve. Then there are big acoustic suspension (sealed) jobs that like that kind of power.
So how about these 400 w rated Estelon Forzas then? ...hey, it's tax refund time!
some people live in a fantasy land ... 10K for a Pioneer that cost about 1,200 in the day which was a pretty penny ... he obviously takes the inflation calculator seriously
