Country singer Stonewall Jackson has died
Grand Ole Opry star and singer since 1956 Stonewall Jackson has passed away at age 89. His first hit was "Waterloo" in 1959. He was one of my personal favorites. Another good one gone. BTW, Stonewall Jackson was his given name, not a stage name. He was named after the Confederate general.

I probably saw him a long time ago at the Opry but don't remember him performing. If I did it was probably in the 1990s because I went there several times.

Re: Country singer Stonewall Jackson has died
Stonewall Jackson opened for Ernest Tubb for years. He picked guitar in his band. I saw Stonewall Jackson at the Indiana State Fair in the late 1960's. He was "borrowing" the Texas Troubadors from Ernest Tubb in those days. Jack Greene also picked for Tubb, along with Roger Miller for a time.
