[MEZLAW]

Like many of you,I have a couple of old vehicles at home. The only car is a 1966 Ford Galaxie 2dr HT with a 390-4BBL and 3-on-the-tree. The rest are Ford trucks from the 1970's

But my real interest is my two Ford tractors, a 1954 NAA and a 1956 800.

Is anyone into old tractors? I will post some photos as soon as see how it is done on this site.

There are several farmers in my area that have vintage tractors and the brands vary depending on the farmer. And yes, Fords are among the brands I see.

My FIL had a 1955 Ford 600. Maybe the toughest little tractor ever made, would punch well above its weight. In the black, sandy loam we had at home, it would pull 3-14's mounted on the three-point hitch. The only downside to that tractor was that the muffler sat longitudinally with the engine and put a lot of heat under the hood into the radiator. He put a straight pipe on it, much like the one MEZLAW posted. Ford supplied the little "Red Tiger" engines in those tractors for industrial engines. Many would run 24-7 during the growing season, stopped only for service and oil changes. Used on irrigation systems. My dad ran Oliver tractors, grandpa ran Massey-Harris.

I have a forlorn 8N needing restoration after a fire.

It has a hydraulic loader bucket and was very useful around the property.

It will be gotten to as soon as time permits, some work has been finished on the hood resto.

Lots of hoses to rebuild, too.

Nice looking tractors. I have a 2810 Ford that was made in the late 80s so not nearly as old as yours. How about some pictures of your car and trucks. My brother used to have a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 7 Litre that I always thought was a nice looking car.

Well aren't you lucky! That's the same truck that we used for the Annual Canadian Fishing Trip until it got replaced by a purple (!!) one. It held three full-size guys on the big bench seat. 6 cyl., 3 speed, AM radio. Your basic truck, not even two-tone like yours. It did not lend any prestige to the inhabitants but it got us there and back. (It would have taken a lot to make us look prestigious).

Over on the Tacoma forum we just had a laugh about modern trucks with power tailgates (my new low-end Taco requires me to lift it, thank goodness).

It's a 302 roller cam block and it's stroked out to a 347. Currently still on the stand.

I like those old Ford trucks a lot and I've had several throughout my lifetime. Seeing the topper on your truck brings back some memories for me. When I was young, I had a topper on my truck, and I built some wooden storage boxes in the bed of the truck. I laid a mattress on top of the boxes, and we went on many camping trips with that setup.

With my new Tacoma, I joined the Tacoma World forum. It has a running "Car Porn" thread, a place to post photos of cool cars. Somebody posted this handsome old fellow the other day. I'm so jealous of California....
