Lee Mace "Ozark Opry"

Post: # 28687Post electra225 »

This band started in 1953 or thereabouts. Located in Osage Beach, MO, the Ozark Opry was a fixture in central Missouri for over 50 years. I had the opportunity to go see this band perform a couple of times in the late 1960's. Known for playing really fast music, many times using specially-modified instruments, just for their purposes. Notice the piano with the 45 degree keyboard. I don't remember the piano player's name, but his specialty was rapid piano playing. This exceedingly poor video was likely taken from TV with a VCR. This is the only video I could find of the piano player. Almost every one of their performers could sing or play an instrument of some kind. Very entertaining bunch. I believe Lee Mace is gone now, but don't quote me on that.
