I watch younger people text and I'm amazed at how they can hit the right letters with any accuracy, and I'm also amazed at the speed they can do it. I have to use one finger, and I still mess up.

I don't text much, but it does come in handy if I'm at a high school football game and want to know where my sons are sitting. It's usually way to loud to talk on a phone.

I have a flip phone so texting involves hitting one key 1,2, 3, or even 4 times to select the letter I want. It does discourage idle gossip via text. Texting can be done but it is slow. The new truck's audio does connect up with the flip phone so I can engage in hands-free chatter and be legal.
