I have rarely found a CD that was produced from
original tapes that did not sound fantastic.

I've never left them.

Nor have I. I have found that some homemade CD's may have varying fidelity quality. I've never seen the need for me to stream music when I have such a volume of music on more permanent media.

I hope they don't make a comeback because then I might not be able to buy them for cheap. I guess I have enough now even if I wasn't able to buy any more. CDs have been my main listening source since the 90s. It's just so easy when you have a 301 CD player. I have a laptop that I'm going to transfer my music to and try it that way. I'll get it done one of these days.

I have two 300 disc, a 400 disc and a 200 disc CD changers. I connect them to various console stereos, depending on my mood. The 200 disc changer has the wife's music on it. The 400 disc changer is not completely full, but both 300's are.

First we had the vinyl revival. Then cassettes started becoming chic. Now it's CDs. Somewhere recently I read a piece in which a hi-fi writer admitted preferring owning hard copies, mostly CDs, over streaming. He liked knowing that his favorite music would always be at hand and not subject to the whims of some anonymous streaming service employee. And he liked that when he buys a CD, a more substantial part of the price goes to the artist. I agree. I like my CDs and LPs. I don't subscribe to a streaming service. Yes, it's fun to listen to forgotten music for free on YouTube but the experience is low-fi and, as with streaming, subject to disappearing without notice.
