Tube amplifier lingo

Post: # 20520Post Motorola minion »

Being that the majority of us on this site are auto-philes, I propose easier terminology to refer to our beloved amplifier vacuum tube configurations. 2/3 channel version below

2V or 2 barrel = single ended stereo
4V or 4 barrel = push-pull stereo
2V + 2x1V = 1 channel push-pull+2 channels single ended
3x2V tri-power = 3 channel push-pull
2x4V = Dual mono block push-pull stereo

I like that, and it sounds like a good idea, Dave, but I'm an old guy and I will never remember that. :oops: :oops: :o :shock: :? :shock:

How about a 1V, single barrel. Single ended mono amp. ;) :roll: :lol:

Three-on-the-tree. 3-tube Multiplex adapter mounted on the side of the cabinet..... ;)
