ARVIN 40P34

I have finished up this 1971 Arvin SS stereo.
Except for the audio leads off the amp, all connections
are soldered on.
So I had to remove the motor from the BSR AA50
changer, to service the changer.
Motor was dis-assembled and cleaned sitting in the
cabinet bottom. Not that difficult.
After I had finished it, the left channel would cut off
at times. I opened the amp up best I could and
sprayed e-tronics cleaner into the pots.
Seems good now.
The original stereo cartridge had one bad channel,
so I replaced it with a P-228 Pfanstiehl.
The cart mounts with a top screw through the tonearm.
I widened the pre-formed hole in the P-228 mount, and then
threaded the plastic with the top screw.
It was more difficult this time to thread the screw.
It appears that the new P-228s I've gotten have a
different type of plastic mount.
The plastic is definitely harder than previous carts,
and the mount forward catch is more difficult to
release without damaging the cart.
This Arvin is kinda neato in that the speakers mount onto
the cabinet for transport.
There are 2 plastic clips on each speaker,
and 2 catch areas molded onto each side of
the cabinet to accept the clips.
