Professional Car Society International Show

Post: # 15664Post electra225 »

I have never seen as many professional cars in one spot. Very interesting video. Maybe some of you are more familiar with professional cars than I, but perhaps you will enjoy the video. I didn't know that 1979 was the last year for a Cadillac ambulance. GM gave their professional car business away, but to whom? Along with that, I assume the professional car body builders also shuttered their operations?

I was friends with the owner of that 79 ambulance. The car was burned in a fire and he rebuilt it. We lost him a couple years ago to covid and his wife passed away a few months ago. They were the cream of the crop car people and an absolute joy to be around...

He was a true professional car guy, owning flower cars, hearses and... ambulai... looks correct for 3rd declention Latin plural....

You remind me of how much I have learned and then forgotten since I sat in Latin class around 58 years ago. Memorizing the cubic inch displacement of all the American V-8s in that era must have nudged the fine details of Latin out of my brain. But I am still aggrieved when a college--a place of higher learning!!!!-- sells license plate frame that say "U. of _____ Alumni." Maybe OK for a married couple who both went to the same place, but they don't offer a single option.

Ticks me off as well... and misuse of the optative: "If I WERE a rich man" is grammatically correct. Use the singular verb!!!! When I see IF with WAS in print, I call the newspaper...
