Re: Cartridge wire color code
well according to that... my cart is completely wired wrong... looking at the rear of the cart mine is wired left side red/blue... and right is white/green as I mentioned my grounds are reversed , and that shure page says the left should be white/blue... and the right red/green ... the AT3600 has less output by 1/10th of a volt and you can tell by the where the volume needs to be set... also the Bass is lacking now... thus my wiring question... I found this on the web , and it seems my grounds are in the right place but my inputs seems to be reversed ...

Ok I wired the pins exactly as shown in the previous post... funny when you have to solder small fine stuff then your parkinson's kicks in....
anyway it sounds the same as before.... still lousy bass... I looked closer at the AT3600 specs and it uses a .6 LP styli ... I had a .7 styli before... would that change kill bass?

Stylus shape won't affect bass response.

Are your cartridge outputs labeled? If you have them out of phase, that will kill bass response and also make things sound "phasey."

Below is the wiring diagram for Pickering V15... the grounds are on top ... people on audiokarma say the standard wiring is for the everyday mass produced carts... specialized carts like the shure, pickering, and stanton's use their own wiring diagrams and should be looked up before changing one for another... learn something new everyday...
