Re: Stereo Theater Oregon
That's a nice-looking unit, and it works. I wonder if the statement that the changer is set to manual mode means it is not working in auto mode? I would love to see it with the back off.
A little research shows it to be a Magnavox Stereo Theater 500 in Danish Modern light walnut. It has the "gold seal" 21" chromatic TV, AM/FM radio, and six speakers. Model 1-MV188L. It also came in traditional Mahogony and Early American.

Re: Stereo Theater Oregon
The 188 was the smallest Stereo Theater Magnavox built. I almost bought one in Mesa one time, but someone had hacked the legs and that would have had to have been redone. The one I looked at had a single-ended amplifier. The one you posted has a Conquest changer, and it would still have a real metal, hard-wired TV chassis rather than the PCB model like in mine. Since that one works, all you would need to do is a tune-up. That one looks like a keeper. Somebody should adopt it and give it a good home! Good luck.

The seller is wildly optimistic on his asking price. There is literally NO market for one of these, except to guys like us. It's in really nice shape, Hydro. That is quite the find.

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison
