Just keeps getting worse

Now I'm not one to gripe about cold & snow in the winter. It's part of the experience. But lately, it seems like a conspiracy to perplex us. Saturday was pretty cold, below 20 degrees, and with high winds, so I stayed home. My plan was to do some winter recreation on Sunday when things moderated. Well, nothing is moderate these days. Our temps shot up into the mid-40s on Sunday and my sidewalks and back yard were little ponds. No winter recreation at 40-plus degrees. At the end of the day I headed off on the daily hike and encountered a couple guys starting off on their X-C skis. No idea whether they were able to make a go f it on the wet snow and ice. They did choose waxless skis for the conditions. I had today off (holiday) and it's below freezing. I had pondered going out on some waxless skis but we are getting severe weather warnings again--heavy wet snow PLUS 1/2 inch ice on trees & wires PLUS high winds. I wasn't anxious to drive very far with all that headed our way. The mess is supposed to persist all day Tuesday so I probably won't bike to work. But then, the commute is predicted to be extremely hazardous, so maybe the bike would be superior to the truck. At least the bike has studded tires. I d wish we'd have some normal weather, something stable and appropriate. At least I've had some indoor time (got the Radio Shack receiver fixed and made a tiny dent in housekeeping issues).

It's Michigan, Chris. It's a day by day thing, like a surprise. We never did get a January thaw, at least down here. I just want Spring!!!!

I believe you can buy a plane ticket that will take you via direct flight from Traverse City to Mesa Gateway airport about 5 miles NE of here. Lots of sun and NO snow out here.
