here's an oddball console...

Never seen on quite like this: odd cabinet, odd control panel, odd speaker configuration... I can't make anything out at all, any guesses?

The knobs and the changer look "Zenithy", but the cabinet is a real oddball. The overarm on the changer looks VM to me, but what do I know?

It's definitely Zenith. I recognize the VM changer with the Zenith 2g tone arm. With a lot of squinting I can read the word Zenith in the space between knobs. Interesting cabinet and design. Not a bad idea actually, why open the whole lid if you do not need to. I'm wondering if the front speaker grille is just for midrange and tweeter. The woofers might be side or down firing.

I believe that's right, the side-by-side 3-knob amp and 2-knob tuner controls looks like some other Zenith's I've seen mounted conventionally that were lower-mid line models but this one looks different and fancier. There must be some side-mounted speakers that aren't shown.
