Magnavox catalog
Magnavox catalog
Hey all I'm looking for a 1972 Magnavox console brochure, digital copy or original.
I realize this is out of the area of interest of most here. I have a R231 receiver for this year of console,am looking for info
as to what it went in and specs... please advise and thanks!

I don't remember if that catalog was on the old forum or not. I didn't save anything past 1963 myself. Good luck.

Unfortunately none of the old website is available.
Someone must have downloaded it onto there if they had one.
Anyone have this in their archive?

Does anyone know how to contact the old site's webmaster?

Re: Magnavox catalog
I found this '72 Magnavox catalog on YouTube. I don't know who put the Bob Wills music in the background, but maybe this will help some.

I couldn't contact the webmaster of the old forum when I was a moderator. He must still be around because the old forum was removed, and he was the only one who could do that.
I wonder if the pages of this video can be captured somehow into a file. Inquiring minds want to know.....

Re: Magnavox catalog
Thanks Greg appreciate your finding that! They sure had a lot of models, with a more limited number of actual receivers in them (most of which they don't even show, oddly, including unusual vertical and "floating" models. I guess most people were more interested in the furniture. Pretty blurrry text and specs, hard to read. Evidently he made some digital copies for people but stopped doing it due to volume of requests. A shame that Magnavox had pretty much perfected the SS receiver by then with Silicon transistors, better tuners, and enclosed speaker designs (in styrofoam it seems from the catalog!) but the cabinets themselves were declining from the quality of the tube era. Like to find a hard or digital copy of this!

Magnavox stuff is like finding hen's teeth. I'm not done looking yet, but this is the best I've come up with so far. Rex is the expert "looker". Nobody on the planet better at finding stuff than he is.
