Our public radio request show played "Old Man River," sung by William Warfield, this weekend. It's one of the great American songs, with music by the great Jerome Kern, who gave us another of may favorites, "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes," and lyrics by the equally great Oscar Hammerstein.
