When I was a kid my Mom tried to steer me toward piano lessons. At that age, piano lessons seemed way too indoorsy and "girly" so I successfully resisted. And have regretted it ever since reaching adulthood (whenever that was).

My grandpa refused to allow me to take piano lessons for much the same reasons you cited. I taught myself to play well enough to amuse myself many years later, but haven't even done that much in ages. And, like you, that is a regret of mine. The little lady in this video has such short fingers it's amazing that she can even reach the keys.

That song was played at my cousin funeral.
Left this world in a jeep climb accident age of 32
