Cheerio Meredith

Post: # 25857Post electra225 »

This is the actress who played Emma Brand, later Emma Watson on the Andy Griffith show. I never knew her name until recently. I work with a man who is a fan of the show and I wanted to know who played Emma Watson. Her character was always sickly and was a huge conspiracy theorist and gossip. I think she also played on the Waltons and maybe even on an episode of Gunsmoke.

I do remember her on Andy Griffith and she played the part well. I'm also a big fan of the Andy Griffith Show. Most of the characters on there were so unique and played their parts so well. It just wasn't the same after Don Knotts left though. It was my favorite of all sitcoms and just thinking of the show makes me smile.

The show was simply entertaining. It didn't preach morality, nor try to advance an agenda. The characters were unique. Even the ones who were "nasty" on the show were lovable characters. I think Briscoe Darling or Ernest T. Bass were my favorites.

My favorite Briscoe Darling line when dealing with Ernest T. Bass was "I reckon I could have killed him, but I hated to go that far....." ;) ;)

I'd have to say that Barney and Ernest T. Bass were my favorite characters, but I also think almost all of them were great.

Speaking of Briscoe Darling, aka Denver Pyle, I also liked the Dukes of Hazzard. I guess I'm a sucker for silly shows.

I got my dog a little over seven years ago and didn't want to name him Prince, Rex or any other common dog name. I thought about naming him Ernest T. but settled on Otis after Otis on the Andy Griffith Show. Now, how many dogs have you saw that were named Otis.

Otis is a cool name for a dog, does his personality fit the name? If so, then you picked the correct name.

Otis's personality sometimes reminds me of Otis Campbell but other times not so much. When he was young, he was pretty hyper almost all of the time but the older he gets, the more he settles down but still has some hyper left in him. He's a Texas Heeler and he has a lot of herd instinct in him. If someone is playing with a stick, Otis thinks that it's always his stick. He can put a squirrel up a tree in a heartbeat. He tries very hard to herd buzzards but it doesn't work out very well for him. He always manages to chase them away though. He minds well most of the time and if he starts chasing a deer, I can almost always call him off. In the evening, Otis usually wants to be left alone and lie in his bed.

He started out being more like Ernest T. but is slowly turning into Otis Campbell.

Here's a picture of Otis and my grandson back in 2018 when we were camping. Otis was almost a year old then. He's gotten a lot bigger and so has my grandson.

Dr. Phil says dogs don't understand people. That shows he has never had a good dog. Dogs are amazing critters.
