We have survived spambot season! These yearly pests were not as prolific as they have been in years past. I have no idea why they even have a spambot season, basically running from around Christmas, give or take a week, to the middle of February, give or take a week. I haven't run an exact number, but we are up over 2,000 for the season. Bill deserves a pat on the back for keeping an eye open while I have been diverted elsewhere. We only had one make it to the forum, and that was last evening. How he got on I still haven't figured out. They want to post about Russian porn, regular porn, vitamins, Bitcoin, other nonsense. They have been from Russia, Ukraine (you'd think they would have more important stuff to do besides try to mess up our forum), Finland, England, Vietnam to name but a few of the countries represented. I banned one IP address and one email address.

Thank you Greg for keeping the forum safe and available for us to use. So, which one made it in without doing the proper procedures?

I didn't write down their username and I don't remember it. IT was in English, from Vietnam, about Bitcoin. I have no idea how they got onto the forum, unless it was an inactive member I had not deleted.

Locations are vital when new members register. No location, they get zapped. Sorry to be so abrupt about this, but we MUST know who is on our forum. I'm sick of messing with spambots. Just saying.......

I am still getting spam emails in large numbers, coinciding with the forum's "spambot season." Over 30 today. They are selling gutter covers, tinnitus cures, auto warranties, life saving devices, liposuction, roof replacements, cures for ED, pillows, and all manner of trash for the unwary.
