Hello

Post: # 23950Post Grand137 »

Thanks for the add and thanks for being here. My journey in classic hifi re-stared a few years back when I given a Pioneer SL400 for Christmas. The return didn’t work and sometimes still doesn’t.

From there I picked up a 1963 Magnavox console that was barely used and just needed a good cleaning. It is my main listening unit and it smells, feels and sounds warm. I also have a 1976 Magnavox console with 8-track. Another amazing gem. I have and have had a number of turntables and record changers since. These include a Samsung, Gerrard, a BIC 1000, a Technics. The Gerrard and Technic were restored (by me) and gifted to family.

The BIC 1000 and my new project Sears AM/FM stereo with cassette, 8-track and a Matsushita (Panasonic?) SP-915ACC are why I am here. Through a search I saw HiFI Mogul did a repair on one of these SP-915ACC’s with an o-ring…genius.

Yes, welcome and enjoy everything there is here on the forum. Lots of good stuff and good people too. A long time ago I had a BIC 1000. It was a nice turntable and never gave me any problems. I can't remember why it went away; I usually keep everything.

Welcome aboard and thanks for the photos. Seeing the BIC 1000 reminded me of my own journey with a 920. I had it high enough to watch it "do it's thing" through the clear plastic bottom cover. Great memories though it's long since gone to a new custodian.
