My contribution to the jazz conversation....

"Mr. Stick Man", the late Pete Fountain. IMHO, his best album was "Mr. Stick Man", on Coral, circa 1965. This particular cut is from the Lawrence Welk show, since this is one of my favorite Pete Fountain numbers. Just so we will all feel older than we do now, Janet Lennon is 76.... ;) She is the baby....

My favorite Pete Fountain is "Pete Fountain's New Orleans At Midnight",
Mono, CORAL CRL 57429.

I found it years ago at a great estate sale with literally the
owners' 5-6 thousand abums in a special
music room with walls of custom shelving for the records.

I brought home over 100 albums, each less than a dollar.
Those days are long gone for sure !

I have an album that Pete Fountain cut featuring Al Hirt. They are both among my favorites individually, but when they are together, their material is a tad rowdy for my taste. More noise than music, if that makes any sense.
