Here are three interesting units that I found on Craig's list, and one is Chris's neck of the woods.

The Silvertone stereo in Indy is a "tube fuse" unit.

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

That Hallicrafters--looks like a battery/AC portable--does anybody know?
And that Scott--imagine it lasted about 2 minutes before it was snagged.

Re: Finds on Craig's List.
About 10 yrs ago I sold that exact receiver out of that same model Silvertone (aka Sears) to Bob Carver (yes that Bob Carver) out in Seattle. I got it free, and rather beat up by her long-gone kids, from a widow-lady neighbor of my Uncle. Lord only knows what Bob C. wanted with it, he said something about putting it in his "museum", whatever that meant... as what? an example of sheer mediocrity? It was an ordinary 6bq5 unit, clearly built to a price. Guess it takes all kinds.... I will say he was a very nice guy and quite appreciative. I think I got maybe $75 for it? At least it was saved.
