Why would anybody put two seconds of effort into a deathtrap like this? This car frame is massively overloaded, with a terrible center of gravity. Way too much weight on the rear.

The earliest "motor homes" of the modern era were liked that, although the ones I recall seeing in articles were on mid-50s Cadillac chassis. I haven't watched the video yet beyond the first 45 seconds (have a CD on) but I'm guessing that some rear-suspension upgrades must have been involved. Later in the modern era they went to truck chassis. I saw a small Toyota model somewhere recently.

The cadillac versions were built on the beefier commercial chassis (hearse, ambulance). Most were made by Miller Meteor but some were backyard creations.
I dunno how they got this to work on a Lincoln.
