Spring emergence

Post: # 14826Post TC Chris »

I went to get the Chevy out of winter storage today. Feeling bold, I predicted, "It'll start on the second crank." And it did. Yay for rec gas!!!! Drove just fine on the way to the summer garage.

Did you check the brake fluid? ;) ;)

Did you ever get the transmission shifting issue sorted?

The transmission issue is still awaiting a more competent shop. I'll be calling around, and waiting for a spring car show to seek some referrals maybe. When it's warm it flares as it upshifts.

What I need to check is the power steering fluid-- a bit more leakage under the front that I would have expected.

The guy who has the storage building takes care of the cars. He warned me that on his Feb. check, he found the L. rear tire a bit low. He pumped it up. And he promised to clean out my drip pan for next fall, and to clean the concrete floor where drips missed the pan. He even provided a cover for this past winter. For my part, I plan to buy a cover that fits and another drip pan.

Any suggestions on quality & material for storage covers?

Ii triple cover the Buick for storage. A soft cover next to the paint, a waterproof cover over that, then a plastic tarp to keep dust out of the lower covers.

The building where I store is less dusty than my house. The cars are covered only because the owner f the building prefers them covered. And hey, if he's going to my tire inflated and clean my drip pan, I sure won't argue.
