Ms. Timi Yuro

Post: # 14778Post Hi-Fi-Mogul »

I came across this artist on a music reaction site
that the youngsters are doing now.
Glad to see young people really enjoying the
discovery of decades of good music.

Timi had a really good voice, and for me, may vie for
equal standing with Ms. Patsy Cline.

She was called " the little girl with the big voice ", agree !

I'm surprised at myself for not knowing about her or
hearing any of her recordings.

Timi got her start singing at her parents Italian restaurant in Los Angeles and was soon discovered by a Liberty Records A&R guy who soon there after signed her to a record deal with the label. Her big hit was a song called Hurt followed by Whats A Matter Baby. She recorded a country flavored lp called Make The World Go Away which contained the title tune as a single.
I'm a fan and have a couple of her 45's as well as a few of her lp's. She was quite a talented gal.
