Motorola console stereo with Vibrasonic

Post: # 11298Post electra225 »

I thought some of you guys might like this one. I haven't seen a cabinet like this before. It looks to be in nice shape. :D

The reason that the "radio function does not work" is that there is not a tuner installed. The amp likely has a "tuner" option on the selector switch, and they turned to that and heard nothing.

That would be correct, Chris, it goes where the records are stored. That certainly is a different Early American cabinet.

Somebody out in Phoenix should contact the seller and tell him that since the radio doesn't work, repairs will be VERY expensive, then make a low-ball offer.

I like your idea, Chris! For me, it would be like a dog chasing cars. What would I do if I caught one? I don't have room for it.

Some early American furniture had those corner thingies. It helps keep the "set top appointments" from sliding off..... ;)

Was the vibrasonic a reverb?

1962 model with back-lighted knobs, very cool feature and that year only :? . I swear that is a GE cabinet design ;) they did some real exaggerated EA.

The radio option would be a slide rule tuner, like an SK77. I had a model one year newer SK107, no tuner and but it used PP 6V6 for center channel and 1 6BQ5 for right and another for left channel. It had that uber-cool separate preamp chassis with vibrasonic :) but it was sold after some use in the shop.
