105 with a heat index of 124. I don't know how Mr. cat keeps from scorching.

You are more than welcome to visit us in cool, but sunny AZ. It is only 103 here today, with 7% humidity.

I'm sure Mr. Cat has found a nice cool shade tree to sit under. Animals are smarter than humans, they know enough to "come in out of the rain so to speak".

We had gorgeous weather in N VT over this last week, 70s every day, clear and sunny to partly sunny, light wind. Got the boat in for the year and our maiden voyage from the marina to our home mooring went smoothly... always a good way to start summer!
Had to head home today as we go to Denver on Tuesday, but here in NY the next week looks like from low to high 70s most days. Haven't had to turn on the A/C yet this summer, and the next week at least looks to be the same.
Gardens are doing great, vegs and flowers are flourishing, the flower beds are beautiful this time of year, and the air smells like perfume at times. It never does that in Denver, too dry. Here's my wife's 'bee garden" next to our shed, full of bees right now, also I don't mow the yard when the clover is blooming (the small white ones in the lawn) as they love those too... makes good honey!
Weather.com said it was 114 in Phoenix the other day?

Greg, try out our 45% humidity. I flew here from Utah one day. Same temperature, staggering difference.

Humidity is the killer for us too here in Michigan.

Then I spoke too soon and too early. It got up to 112 here this afternoon. Some guy went to see "Mrs. Murphy" in the forest north of Flagstaff. He sat fire to his toilet paper, which started a 23,000+ acre fire. True story. If I had done that, no way would I have admitted it.

I was on the phone with a guy in Wisconsin at work today--over 100 degrees there. Here, on the other side of Lake Michigan, ten degrees cooler--in the 90s, depending on how far from the water you are.
My local sailboat launched today. Then I went back to work in the air-conditioned building. Weather too threatening to sail this evening so I just fiddled with the rigging, bent on the sail, and made s short video to celebrate. Will post a link later.

Well, if they caught him, admitting to an accidental fire is a lot better than an intentional arson. But for goodness' sake, TP doesn't have a lot of heat value; not sure it would ignite other stuff.

They don't want people using propane barbecue grills in the high country. You can't have ANY open burning anyplace around here. Lighting TP is more than enough flame to burn down half of northern AZ.

And according to a piece on NPR just this morning areas like AZ , NM, and CA are going to get even hotter and drier also, S. TX and CO. Humidity here might be uncomfortable sometimes in the summer and snow in winter but I'll take it to the alternative... at least we can garden!

The heat wave continues here. It is 100 outside here at work and the A/C failed last week in our half of the building. It's 78 in here right now and will get hotter. I clocked in early and will be leaving early. I told my supervisor so. He concurred. Mr. cat is still out there, though in the woodwork.

Rex, make sure Mr. Cat has plenty of clean water. He will take care of himself otherwise. It is warm here, but the humidity is low. The weather guessers say a 50% chance of rain tomorrow. We got a half inch last week at 20% so we are looking forward to a little moisture. Take care in the heat and especially the humidity.

Bill, the humidity is expected to get higher in the next few days leading to rain with 90 degree temps.

Here in northern lower MI, we've had at least two periods of temps in the 90s in June. That's rare, as in unprecedented. Today was 70s and I have windows open in my non-AC house and shop this evening to let them cool off again. Open up and cool off at night; close up in the daytime to keep the heat out.
This evening I was out sailing on our local heat sink, Lake Michigan, and had to put a fleece pullover on.

Rex, we in MIchigan understand hot and humid but ours is a short season of that kind of weather and being it's Michigan it could be hot and humid one day and you are looking for your winter coat the next. My cousin who lives in Monroe NC is always complaining to me about the heat and humidity. She hates hot humid weather and yet she moved to where it is hot and humid, and that is because that is where their daughter and the grandkids are.
Chris, down here in central lower Michigan we have not hit 90 yet, close at 88 but not 90.

The last summer I was in Michigan, I worked for a scale calibration/repair company. One customer I was assigned was the Sealed Power Piston Ring factory/foundry. It was 113 outside when I pulled up, and I had to perform calibrations carting around 500 lbs. of load up weights and a oz/gm weight case inside the 141 degree foundry area. That was the strangest year of work I've done.
