Hey everyone,

Just wanted to drop a quick hello as I recently registered on the board. I've been getting deeper into vintage console setups and restoring old stereo gear over the past few months, and this looked like the perfect place to learn from others who appreciate classic audio quality.

Right now, I mostly run digital playlist configurations and stream high fidelity tracks to test out my speakers, but I'm looking to slowly transition into integrating more analog setups.

Glad to be here and looking forward to checking out everyone's console restoration projects

Welcome aboard! We look forward to sharing your projects as well as ours. I do Magnavox myself, with a smattering of GE Trimline models. I've been practicing this hobby for over 40 years, but I learn something every day. We hope you enjoy the forum and will post often. :D

Sandy mentioned classic gear. A recent issue of Stereophile magazine had a review of a preamp ($25K, so I'm not rushing to buy one) from a small CA company, Ampsandsound

https://ampsandsound.com/pages/who-we-are

I was looking for his quotes about the classic designs in the back of the RCA tube manual, which have always fascinated me. Must have been in the review. Basically, he starts with a classic basic design and then uses ultra-high quality parts, especially transformers, and assembles them so they can be serviced if ever needed. He uses very heavy gauge metal for chassis.
