Discussions about instruments in smaller cabinets. If they don't set on the floor, they belong here. Tube and solid state, stereo and mono.

If anyone runs into one of these, I'm posting how to remove
the amplifier/speaker baffle for service.

After removing the changer, then some obvious wood
screws, I was still stumped on how to remove the amp.

Solution came when I had turned the player with the
front facing down. I noticed the baffle had moved
forward a bit.

So, I levered the four sides of the baffle with a putty
knife, and out it came !

Someone had jack-legged in a wrong values capacitor
can, so that all was cleaned up using a terminal strip
for new capacitors.

The original UA-8 BSR changer was a mess, so I used
an extra V-M 1210 changer, trimming its plinth a bit
to fit in the Decca cabinet.

I painted the front of the cabinet to a relatively close
color match.

You have access to some really neat stuff, Mr. Mogul! What a cool little record player.....

The VM changer has GOT to be a major upgrade from the BSR, mess or no mess. ;) ;)
Life can be tough. It can be even tougher if you're stupid.....
