Tester from Jameco

How about this component tester from Jameco?

Now, I know what a resistor looks like, and a capacitor, and a transistor. But let's say you've got a mystery transistor, don't know the pin-out, and can't ID it. This will tell you which lead is which, what type of transistor, and some characteristics. Looks useful to me.

I bought their little LED tester kit but have not put it together yet.

It appears to be a beneficial device, particularly if you were working with solid state equipment. I wonder if they have an updated version, newer than February of 2017. ;) ;)

I started assembling my LED tester kit tonight but had to stop--my soldering iron needs its tip sharpened because the pads on the little circuit board are really close to each other and I already filled one accidentally. Tomorrow night I'll take the desolder tool out to suck it clean. Tried blowing it out tonight but no luck.

It's a high-quality kit.
