RCA Victrola high fi. 6-HF - 3

Hi all, just picked up an RCA Victrola Hi Fi model 6-HF-3 off the sidewalk! cabinet structurally sound but in rough shape. radio and record player not working. Looking for advice on modernizing the electronics.

As to the "modernization" of your RCA console, we really don't recommend replacing original components with newer components. Our forte is the preservation and restoration of the electronics that are already there. If that is something you would be interested in, you are in the right place. What concerns you about the original components? They are fully restorable and will work better with the speakers and cabinet accoustics than anything more modern you could use. Step #1 would be getting the electronics functioning. The forms of modernizing that might be appropriate are adding an input for external devices like a CD player or phone, and maybe a modern turntable and stereo cartridge so you can play stereo LPs (in mono, of course).
