The car show was rained out. I didn't miss much. Maybe they will try again.

A cat on a roof...
Not a "hot tin roof" but our concrete tile roof. I went out to the mailbox this morning, after I had overslept and missed the car show. I heard a cat yelling somewhere. It sounded like it was in a tree, but we don't have any tall trees. I looked up and found "Lucy" standing on the roof of the garage. She had on a tag with phone numbers. I coaxed her over to me, grabbed her by the tail so she wouldn't escape. She came to me, didn't try to dig at me. She still had claws, so we put her in the cat carrier to keep her and Mittens from fighting. If Mittens had gotten a good look at her, the fight would have been on. We tried calling the numbers on her tag. One was out of service, one rang busy. We called the local vet who agreed to check her for a chip. No chip. The girl at the vet clinic tried the number and get ahold of the mother right away. The cat belonged to her daughter. I left the cat at the vet clinic after the owners said they were on their way. The owners of the cat didn't call to thank us. I wondered why, then thought that maybe the vet clinic didn;t give our name and number to the cat's owners, lest they try to come back on us, alleging that we abused or injured their cat. We did what we could, the cat didn't get harmed on the road or anything and is allegedly on her way back home. That's a happy ending.....

Life can be tough. It can be even tougher if you're stupid.....
