I tacked the description of my troubleshooting of this issue on the tail end of my SK111 restoration thread a couple of days ago, but it may not be readily found by those of you who also have this issue, so I'm linking to it here

Because the MPX version that I have apparently passes audio, even without filament voltage, and even with the tubes removed
, that fact creates some confusion for troubleshooting!
It's working for now, but of course I still may have an intermittent connection in the filament voltage wiring that will need further sleuthing...
