Cheaper gas.....just down the road

Post: # 25652Post electra225 »

Gas down the block from me at the Circle K is $3.59 a gallon. Down the road about 22 miles gas is $2.89 a gallon. So, the frau and I hopped into the Buick and drove to the Circle K in Coolidge, filled up with gas then stopped at Mickey D's for an ice cream cone. It is a beautiful afternoon, 83 degrees, perfect weather to take a nice little cruise in a black Buick without running the air conditioning. The tank held 16 gallons, so I saved $11.20, then burned about two gallons going back home. I wonder if somebody is gouging on gas prices as you get closer into the 'burbs? ;) :o

Prices at the pump tend to reflect the price the vendor paid. I've bought gas at a local station when the big-brand next door was 30 cents more, and other times they are within a penny.

No cruising here. It rained all night and most of the day so far.

If it rained all day and all night here, we'd all be washed down the Salt River to Tucson by now.......

Gas in my little town always goes up during tourist season and during the winter it goes up, as much as 50 cents a gallon on Thursdays and then on Friday it starts going back down. I can tell you point blank that is pure price gouging. Tankers do not come to town that often in the winter to fill up the stations. And, the little town to the south and the little town to the north is always cheaper than my little town, sometimes as much as 50 cents.

If gas remains cheaper in Coolidge, that will provide the inspiration to have breakfast at Tag's so we can "save money" on the trip...... ;) ;)

It's raining again today and I heard it during the night. Hard to attend to outside projects when it's wet.... Wish I had put the rain gauge out before it all started.

Jefferson County (Louisville) and the counties to the east and west of it are mandated to using reformulated gas. Unfortunately, I live in the county south of Louisville. Reformulated gas costs more and gives less mpg. There is talk that the air has cleared up some and that we may be able to go to the regular type unleaded gas. I sure hope so.

Regular unleaded is $2.79 and it had been a little less than that not too long ago. If I go south into the next county, the gas is almost always less than it is here.
