I thought I would share a discovery that I made recently, maybe it will be applicable to others. Now in my mid 70's, I have "bilateral age related hearing loss" plus "sudden hearing loss" in my left ear, plus a genetic "bilateral reverse-slope hearing loss". So it's complicated!

I have found that a decent pair of earbuds, with tips that fully seal into my ears, deliver amazing fidelity when listening to streaming music. It's as if I have no hearing loss at all! I'm sure it's heavily psychological, but there's a physiological aspect, too, given the complete seal to the ear canal.

Everybody's hearing loss is unique, so YMMV. But if you have hearing loss and you haven't already tried this, maybe it's worth a listen. I tried several low cost earbuds, and settled on these based on great sound, and type of ear tips which allow a complete seal. My phone, a Pixel 8, only has a USB type C interface.

I still enjoy listening to my newly restored Motorola SK111, though, even with my crappy hearing!

Thanks for sharing, I may give then a try. As I mentioned in your Motorola post that I too have hearing loss and it comes from both sides of my heritage. For an old guy, my hearing loss is kind of unusual as I do not have high pitch hearing loss, mine is in the human voice area. Conversations with someone that talks soft especially in a noisy room is almost impossible. Also very difficult in a room with tall ceilings and TV is hard to follow too. I tried closed cushions and open cushions. One would think that a closed cushion would be the best, and for conversation it is better but for listening to music being played on a console or component system open cushions are far better, so mine are open. A lot of my music is stuff that I recorded live from concerts that I have attended so I know what it should sound like and that is why I made the choice to have the open cushions.
