Hankook "brownwall" radials
I run Hankook Optima radials on the Buick, like most Buick guys do. The set I have is the hardest to clean I have ever owned. They ride and drive nice, but I just can't get them clean. I use Mothers' "Back To Black" on the plastic trim on the Mini to keep it black. I used that stuff on the brownwalls on the Buick, and I have to say, I'm impressed. I have used Wesley's Bleech White on them, scouring powder, Simple Green, nothing got the whitewalls white. Back to Black did the job. I found this stuff online. A car detailer ran a comparison on the various compounds intended to keep black trim from turning white, and this stuff came out on top, outside of the ceramic stuff, which is really expensive. Back to Black can be found at Walmart and auto parts stores, costs about $8 a bottle. Downside is it doesn't go very far. It takes a whole bottle to do the black plastic trim on the Mini. I used a half bottle on the four tires on the Buick. The upside is that it works well on the Mini, so I'm going to stock up and use it on the interior of the Buick. This stuff is not just silicone like some of the compounds are, but has cleaners in it as well. I really like it.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison
