Hi all, it's firedome from VHF.net and glad to be here, thanks Greg.
My own experience comprises 57 years in the hobby since building a Heathkit in 1964, and moonlighting for awhile as a writer/editor for a vintage tube audio publication, my specialty being researching and writing about the history of legacy audio manufacturers circa 1920s to '60s. VHF.net had become my favorite audio place on the net due to the friendly atmosphere and the emphasis on vintage consoles. There's plenty of sites and info on "audiophile" component audio out there, so while some discussion on that topic is not necessarily to be avoided, let's hope that this new site becomes a real "go-to" for info on comparatively more unappreciated mono and stereo consoles in the spirit of our departed friend "Ed from Baltimore", the place to go to for friendly help in restoring and enjoying them and the camaraderie of those that feel likewise.
My "collection" consists of a 1962 Dumont console, the "gut's" (R231-10-DA) of a 1971 Magnavox console looking for a good cabinet, and a SS Scott 282
receiver out of a custom-built console.
