Introduction to a new member
Introduction to a new member
Hello all. A new member here and my name is Dan. I have run a TV and general electronics repair center for a little over 40 years. Currently I am working on a vintage (now there's an over-worked word) Magnavox console stereo. It is a tube type amp and tuner and I am hoping to find a schematic. Model # is 1ST61, Amp numbers are 88-02-00, or 549123. I am not so concerned with the tuner right now. Anybody know if the print for this amp exists?

Welcome Dan! You might take a look at the "downloads" section to see what there is.

Welcome Dan! You should find the schematic for the 88 series amp in the Downloads section at the top of this page. Don't be shy! Jump right in and enjoy the forum!

Hey, Dan, welcome! I'll bet you bring a bunch of knowledge and skill that some of us (I raise my hand) lack. And yes, we love photos.

Re: Introduction to a new member
Thanks for the introduction Dan. Having been a tube jockey as a teenager, I gotten lucky fixing lots of old stuff since.
I have seen schematics for these packaged separately into the Sams Photofact for a television. Often you find an amplifier in a folder of a phono-only player but the tuner only included with a TV theatre model's photofact number that can only be found using a TV chassis , NOT model number.
I checked and have a few like it, the AMP 88-02 is in Sams set 591-folder 8, Ill reply to this thread after its in downloads.
Luckily, I have worked on quite a few simple Magnavox models like your patient, models that seemed to sell well to thrifty folk in PA.
