The receiver part looks Asian. I have an Allied receiver that was made by Pioneer, with the same part nos. on the circuit boards as in a Pioneer-branded unit of the same vintage. I wonder of V-M went the same route for electronics.

I think the seller did not post the correct model #.
This console looks to be in the 900 series.
I've worked on 2 of those changers.
They are a V-M 1550, or similar.
Narrow tonearm has a Tetrad cart in it.
Mechanism similar to V-M 1296, 1297, the 1550 with
stylized controls.

None of the pictures show any detail. Why take pictures from across the room?

From Gary's site it looks like model 998 from 1969 and sold for $725.00. Also, from looking at some of VM's component receivers I would say VM built the tuner/amp.

From Gary's site it looks like model 998 (so you are correct Mr. Mogul) from 1969 and sold for $725.00. Also, from looking at some of VM's component receivers I would say VM built the tuner/amp.
