The part I found especially interesting about the RCA commercial I posted is this. The "old, small" TV they were comparing to the new one is today very collectible. It looks like the 621 the collectors like. Collectors would turn their noses up at the new one in the commercial.

To answer your question, Bill, no I haven't been to the Early Television museum. My understanding is that they are a good resource for most anything to do with early, read that, Cathode Ray screen television sets. They also have a comatose picture tube rebuilding project.

Allen Dumont was pursuing electronic television at the same time as Farnsworth and Zworykin. he got his sets to market and established his own network. His labs developed cameras that simultaneously captured video and film. It was that process that filmed The Honeymooners while it was being broadcast live. He couldn't make it, though.

It's a shame he did not make it. He had quality products and quality shows. I guess it's hard to compete with RCA.
