I'm not quite sure where to put this so it's going under finds, at least for now. I ran across this as I was looking up something else. I enjoyed looking thru it so I thought I would share.

Thanks for sharing that, Bill. Maybe it should be in "Getting Started"? It is excellent reference material.

Seems to me that somebody had a searchable database of such publications. That would be a good link. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Page 34 had a good tutorial on how to check the oscillator to see if it is running. This can be one of the hardest parts of a radio chassis to troubleshoot for many people. Worth a read if such things give you trouble.

Interesting note, I was one year old when that was published. It's dated April 1951. I was born March 1951. We are both old.
The antenna pictured on page 10 is the same antenna we had on our roof way back then. We had an Alliance rotor so we could swing the antenna north so we could receive channels 7 and 10 and then sound so we could receive channels 8 and 13. Eventually channel 8 moved their tower farther south so we lost them. Channel's 7 and 8 were NBC. Channel 10 was CBS, and Channel 13 was ABC.

Bill moved this topic to "Getting Started" for reference. He wants me to post this little blurb to that effect, then lock this topic. You may feel free to add comments to the moved topic.
