Is all that chrome standard, or optional? Looks like a good way to run the price up. In my old age I get grumpy about unnecessary additions. The Click-and-Clack column in the newspaper had an inquiry about electrical problems in a late-model minivan. It caused malfunctions in the auto-windsheld-wiper and auto-lights-on functions, among others. I was sitting there thinking, geez, are we so helpless now that we can't turn the lights and wipers on when they are needed? And who really gives a healthy G-D if they don't go on automatically?
But then, I love my manual transmissions....

I believe the Pinnacle can be had with a manual transmission. That would be my preference, if I'm being honest. Maybe the 12-speed that was in the E9's? The Pinnacle has traction control, for pity's sake. Every piece of chrome on that thing is standard, I think, probably depending on the options package. You can't get TOO much chrome on a Mack. I'm not much on single color paint, but, if somebody parked that thing in my driveway, I'd be prouder than a pig in knee-deep mud......
On the AMT models (automatic/manual transmission) you push a button on the dash for "D" then you can change speeds if you want/need to with a paddle on the steering wheel. They have come a "Fer" piece since the twin-stick Quadraplex transmission on the old B-models in the 1960's.
There is actually a practical use for chrome on a truck. Chrome is not as easy to beat up with bugs and road debris as paint is. You will notice the built-in bug deflector built into the trim around the grille. It keeps bugs off the "Puppy Dog" sitting on the hood, that is actually driving the truck.....
I know you guys aren't truck guys, but, if they painted a Pinnacle two tone Lido Lavendar and Black, I'd go back to driving one....
