Magnavox Magna Sonic portable stereo

Post: # 10663Post electra225 »

This poor old thing has had a hard life by the looks of it. It seriously needs some Tolex work. I like the white changer, I think those look classy. Too bad it's solid state, with an incredibly optimistic price...... ;)

Of course, these things were portables, so they usually got dragged all over the place. Not a wonder that they got banged up. My little childhood RCA portable survived because it came in a steel case with a vinyl (or something) overlay bonded to it. That's more durable than wood-and-paper.

I'll post my video of it here for those who haven't seen it. I's a 9-EMP-21h.

Greg, I'm with you on those white finish 600 changers.

I'd like one to put into that little Magnavox "New Horizon"
consolette.

From eyeballing the Collaro H400 changer plinth cut out,
I think a 600 changer will fit.
And I've serviced several 600 changers that functioned
well afterwards.
I don't want to spend any more time on that H400.

Well, if I lived nearby, I'd sure be glad to help you.
