That looks good, Greg, and, you still have room for more. I like the wall hanging. BUICK MAN!

Lookin' Good. I like how it doesn't stick out in the floor.

I enlarged the picture and saw that the Buick Man is made out of several plates. I might have to do something like that.

Thanks, Danny. We had it made just deep enough for records. Our late daughter-in-law made the Buick sign. They were visiting one summer. We went to an auction. She bought a collection of Missouri license plates, then gave me the sign for Christmas. She died from brain cancer in 2018.

Greg, wasn't the Philco sitting in that spot? If so, where did that go?

The Philco is sitting in the kitchen. (Don't ask ;) ) I'm not in love with it. It has basically the same chassis as the 40-180 and is a dandy performer. It is supposed to have a Beam of Light changer, but somebody put a three-speed plow in it, I believe a Webster-Chicago. The fate of the Philco is up in the air. I rescued it and that little Webcor three-channel stereo I gave you from the curb, waiting for the trash man. I wish I had left the Philco. I'm either going to fix it up a tad and put another 12" speaker in it, or take the guts out and put the rest back on the curb. You want it? It's yours if you do.

And Roger, the record cabinet was built specially for that spot. It is certainly not too big. I have put many of those albums on CD. I still have some CD's and VCR movies to put somewhere. Oh, and 300 reels of R-R tape.

I think I missed part of the story. What's wrong with the old Philco? They were generally good performers. Yeah, you may have to re-stuff the Bakelite capacitor blocks but its not difficult, and then you have a good radio.

I had a Philco 41-609 sitting where the record cabinet is now. Bill had asked what I did with the radio when I got the cabinet. It's in the kitchen waiting for the shop to get done. I rescued it and a little cute Webcor three channel stereo sitting along the 7 Hwy. The trash man had not come, so I turned around loaded the Webcor stereo, then end over end, wallowed the Philco radio into the Tahoe. I went thru the electronics and Ron refinished the cabinet. It is a good performer, and it looks nice, but it just is not something I'm in love with. I may try to sell it, give it away, whatever, but I believe it's going to go.

Thanks for the offer, Greg, but do not keep it for me. And, I know there is "always room for one more", but right now, I'm full up. Someone out there will want it, and, is probably willing to pay a few bucks for it.

I visited the storage locker yesterday. I found a couple boxes of stuff the wife wanted. Everything looks okay, like it's survived storage. I didn't see any squished boxes. I'll find stuff I didn't know I still had, that I can tell you.

That's the great thing about storage: you get to discover cool stuff more than once! "Oh, I had forgotten about that!" It's like getting something new without having to find a place to keep it. Unless it's so cool that you want to take it home right now, which is what I tend to do.
