Took the words out of my mouth , if I tried to do this as a business I would have gone bankrupt years ago...I play with this stuff because it is a fun hobby, and I have given away stuff that cost me to fix up... I think I have actually sold 2 or 3 consoles in all the years I have dealt with them...this is just like cars... putting a bunch of $$$$$ installing doodads and other aftermarket crap that you like does nothing for the value of the car...it is all for the love of doing it...Firedome wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 3:34 pm "If this guy can get $4800 for a console stereo of any description, good for him."
I could care less about the value of any console, component, )or car or motorcycle that I own for that matter), I have them because I like them, not because they are an investment. I buy them cheap and sell them cheap or give them away. I don't see any benefit to a drastic price appreciation of consoles, they're the last bastion of reasonably priced vintage audio for the financially challenged. It's strictly a bad thing imho.
