Interesting, easy cosmetic restore as it's painted. It's a 4 hr round trip, if closer I'd probably go after it to fix and re-sell if is reasonably priced. Seller doesn't seem to know much. What kind of amp is it likely to have? 6BQ5 PP or SE or something else?

Re: semi-local V-M
Appears to be a V-M 562 or 564 model.
Ebony finish is definitely uncommon.

Re: semi-local V-M
Bill has a 562. Maybe he'll chime in and bail me out. As I recall, it has a three-or-four tube amp with a strange rectifier, 35C3 as I recall. We found he could test the rectifier as a 35W4 and that the latter tube would sub. I also seem to recall a 12AX7 and P-P 35EH5 output. Don't quote me on any of that. I'd say in any case it would be worth the time to fix it, whatever it needed. That one looks basically all there and not in horrible shape.

Re: semi-local V-M
It is a VM 562, but a pre-stereo unit. And, that is the rare ebony finish. Twin 8" speakers both with whizzer cones. It has 5 tubes, 6AU6, 12AX7, 2-PP EL84's and a EZ81 Rectifier. VM1200 changer. This unit has a switch LH rear corner of the changer that shuts off the changer motor so you can plug a tuner into the aux input in the back. The post-stereo model has another switch forward of the tone arm base that switches from mono to stereo. It also comes with a stereo cartridge with an aux output on the rear to plug in a matching amp/speaker. The are kind of like a table top VM1000 in amp design, and they sound great.
