Thanks Bill, those are great.
I think earlier when I said 3 channel what I meant was the bi-amp models. I did have a 3 ch Motorola --> that performed quite well.
Yes I wonder why they didn't just use higher power output tubes, a pair of push-pull 6550s is good for 40 or more watts, but they do require $$$ xfrmrs to do so. In fact they put out 60 watts each in a pair of Dynaco Mk III amps that I had in back in the '70s. IIRC I paid $200 for a pair of these Dynas around 1975, brand new from Stereo Discounters! Trannies like that aren't cheap, and Dyna was always known for excellent iron, many scavenge them for amp projects nowadays.

Re: Magnavox amps
Roger, those look heavy! The amp 150 is a bi-amp. Four 6V6 tubes for the two bass speakers. One 6V6 tube for the two horns. Actually the Imperial amp (8100 series) looks very similar to the 150 amp except it has an extra 6V6 for the other channel. So, 2 per channel PP6V6 for bass and single per channel 6V6 for the horns.
