Re: Voice of Music model 1000 console stereo
Wow.
At $650.00 it's less than the 1957/8 price of $1025.00 per
Gary's V of M website.
I love the clock (assume it is used as a timer, too), and
the elegant simplicity of the control panel.
The V-M 1200A series changer has the removable cartridge
head it looks like. Cool.
It recalls the V-M 935 record changer, which had
the first change out cart heads for V-M.
I'm a bit apprehensive at the photos in the e-pay ad that
show the speakers removed from the cabinet.
A true land yacht of a hi-fi, ready to sail again with
its restoration.
Curiously I cannot locate a Sams for this model.
Here's an interesting lengthy thread on Phono ARF:

He says in the ad that the photos of the amps and speakers are from the internet and not the ones from this unit. I assume he just wanted to illustrate what loves in the cabinet.Hi-Fi-Mogul wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 3:59 am I'm a bit apprehensive at the photos in the e-pay ad that

It's a good thing that's in VA. If closer, I might be tempted to move it into the house and start sleeping out in the shop.
I salvaged a timer clock like that from a Silvertone TV that I parted out. Someday I'l mount it in a box and wire up an outlet so it can be used. And V-M sold that changer, with the plug-in cartridge shell, as a stand-alone in a metal pan base. I've got one; it was my first "hi-fi" changer and has a GE VR-II cartridge.

That is one sharp unit. I wouldn't mind having that myself...

Me, too, I want one. That ad has been on eBay for over a year. Not sure if it's the location, price, weight, or, the shape it's in, for the reason it has not sold. One of our forum members shared his VM1000 on the "other forum". It looked and sounded great.

That's a really special unit, and as said very clean design that could be either modern or a could fit is as a simple Early American louvered design similar to mine (pic) which was made by Ethan Allen:
