BOP car show hassle

Post: # 28085Post electra225 »

The vaunted Buick-Olds-Pontiac car show is scheduled for March 2026. Like the COPS show and a couple others I like to attend, the Pontiac Club that runs the show is using a "professional" car show registration outfit to run the registration. The outfit is in Canada, knows beans about old cars, while the Pontiac Club knows beans about their business practices. Makes the show almost impossible to register for. The Pontiac Club has, probably for 30 years at least, maintained a haughty attitude about the show. There are ten classes for Buicks, but maybe 60 for Pontiac. The Buick and Olds clubs no longer exist. I like going to the show because many of Art's cars are there and I get to touch base with lots of my old buddies who were in the Buick club. My wife has been working for two weeks trying to get the Buick registered. Now it's my turn. Push comes to shove, I'll register the day of the show. It will be worth the extra ten bucks not to be involved in the hassle of entering the show. There may come a day when registering for this show will be more trouble than it's worth.
Life can be tough. It can be even tougher if you're stupid.....
